At Warner Music Group in Los Angeles, the modern interior is redefined to present a workspace that caters to music industry elite. Founded in 1929, Warner Music Group remains one of the world’s top record companies, representing hundreds of musicians. Its new Los Angeles office fills multiple floors connected by an elevator lobby. Due to the broad clientele, each floor is uniquely designed. However, there is a over-arching modern motif. The space acts both as a functional office and as a presentation venue. Architectural and decorative lighting fixtures were individually coordinated with the independent designs of each floor. Despite the fixture difference, a specification of minimal lamp types for all fixtures reduces lamp stock and allows for easy maintenance. The lighting designers and interior designers carefully coordinated goals to select fixtures capable of using the standard lamps. The Warner Music Group represents five different music labels and a broad range of music. This varying expertise is reflected in the facility design. Each of the six floors has its own personality reflected in the interior and lighting design.
