The Aria Resort & Casino Convention Center Expansion was a transformation of the existing City Center Showroom originally constructed in 2006. The building envelope, consisting of amorphous shapes and undulating fins, was preserved, while the interior completely remodeled. The 52,000 sf building footprint stretching 162 feet high totaling 100,000 sf was infilled with seven levels of program totaling 250,000 sf. The design was inspired by elements from the existing Aria Convention Center: natural light, curved facades and large volumes articulated by sculptural wood forms, art features and integrated lighting. Open-air Verandas and an 8,000 sf Roof Terrace were introduced to connect conventioneers with the electricity of the Vegas skyline and also to connect the two convention centers. There are four convention and meeting room levels, which provide 150,000 sf of net leasable space. The largest Ballroom provides over 28,000 sf and can be divided into multiple configurations including 8 junior ballrooms. The space fits seamlessly along the existing Promenade with direct access to the business center, restaurants, hotel, pool area and casino.
