This first non-gaming commercial development on the Las Vegas strip was developed to create a lush oasis. The park creates a visual and pedestrian link between the strip and the new area, and it is flanked with retail, restaurants and a new theater.
Lush trees are uplighted to soften the concrete canyon. Poles that mount lighting, cameras and speakers were carefully placed to provide the City and client mandated lighting levels. Higher light levels are used for festivals and when the area lets out. The iconic Bliss statue was salvaged from “Burning Man.” External illumination was coordinated with the artist to work in concert with his internal lighting. Pole mounted adjustable RGBA floodlights actually penetrate the outer skin of the sculpture, making it look alive and kinetic.
