As the California population continued to explode, so did the need for regional and international transportation. Originally designed to alleviate the over-crowded nearby LAX facility, the Ontario site was selected to serve the Inland Empire, but now serves a large portion of Los Angeles.
All lighting was integrated into the architecture to conceal sources so as only the lighting effect is visible. On the interior, many fixtures are concealed within architectural coves, while exterior, surface-mounted fixtures shape and finish match the façade.
