Conceptually, the designers of the Las Vegas City Hall wanted to recall the City’s historical roots in the “water and power” created by the Hoover Dam. Translucent fins attached to the façade convey cascading water. The plaza is filled with “solar trees”, covered in PV panels. These provide shade during the day, and a platform for lighting at night. Walls and ceiling surfaces are illuminated in the two story glass-faced lobby to create an inviting visual queue to the building entry.
