As one of LIGHTING DESIGN ALLIANCE’S only designers with a background in interior design,
Julie is not only well versed in the concepts and principles of lighting design as it relates
to other design deciplines, but she also has a clear understanding of client relationships
and design as a profession. Julie has led a variety of projects from concept to construction
in her five years with Lighting Design Alliance.

EXPERIENCE |
After finishing her bachelors degree at Texas Christian University and working with Bouyea and Associates in Dallas, Julie joined LIGHTING DESIGN ALLIANCE in 1997. Her position has rapidly advanced to Project Manager and Designer on numerous projects in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Julie’s project experience includes healthcare, retail and restaurant design, as well as commercial, assisted living, and renovation projects.
In January of 2002 Julie joined a team of designers that has since opened a Chicago based office of LIGHTING DESIGN ALLIANCE to better service our clients in the Midwest and all over the United States. Julie’s teaching experience includes instructing Lighting for Interior Designers at Santa Monica College, lighting seminars at Texas Christian University and USC, as well as serving her fifth consecutive year as the Scholarship Chair for the International Association of Lighting Designers, IALD.
Currently Julie is involved with the lighting design for the Tropicana Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, Bank One Plaza, Calphalon Culinary Center, First East Side Savings Bank, eBay Headquarters in San Jose, St. Julien Hotel in Boulder and McCormick Place Convention Center West Expansion, Chicago.
