Archit is an architect by training and a lighting designer by choice. Archit international experience includes projects in Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, China and the Caribbean. Archit’s architectural background helps him in developing architecturally integrated lighting solutions and then taking them successfully through all stages of design and construction.

EXPERIENCE

Archit has taught Lighting Design Courses and guest lectured at the University of Southern California and the Santa Monica College. In association with Chip Israel, he presented workshops in Retail and Hospitality lighting at Lux Pacifica 2002 in New Delhi, India.

Archit joined LIGHTING DESIGN ALLIANCE in 1998. Previously, Archit worked as a Lighting Designer with Southern California Energy Systems. Archit has also worked as an architect where his projects included energy conscious residences, industrial buildings and community architecture.

Archit has designed lighting for a wide range of projects including hospitality, residential, commercial, and retail. These include offices spaces for Washington Mutual, Disney, Turner, Warner Brothers and ABC. His hospitality projects include Estancia La Jolla, St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, The Peninsula Hotel in Chicago, Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Arizona, Sheraton Grand Maratha in Mumbai, Hyatt Hotels in New Delhi and Kathmandu and Hilton Hotels in Tobago, Barbados and Portland. Retail projects include 7th and Figueroa in Los Angeles, Galaxy Mall in Portugal, “villaggio” in Qatar, Ibn Battuta Mall and Harvey Nichols Flagship store in Dubai, Unitech Great India Place in India, Kolin Park Mall in Taiwan, Grand View Plaza in China and numerous Skechers stores across the US and in Europe.
