From his architectural engineering education to his professional experience as a lighting designer and electrical engineer, Andy has acquired a rare set of skills which serve him well in his capacity as Senior Designer and Project Manager at LIGHTING DESIGN ALLIANCE. Thorough communication during all phases of design and construction is vitally important to the success of any project. In addition to careful coordination with the owner and architect, Andy’s unique background and experience allows him to communicate equally well with other technical consultants.

EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining LIGHTING DESIGN ALLIANCE, Andy held positions at W. L. Thompson Consulting Engineers and Kelly Lundstrom George. Starting as an entry level lighting designer at WLT, his experience expanded there (and later at KLG) to include electrical design engineer and project manager. Andy’s lighting credits during this period include numerous domestic and international projects, including several Ritz Carlton and Hyatt hotels, Disney’s Mediterranean and Boardwalk Resorts, Carolina Place Mall and the law offices of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker in Atlanta.

Since joining LIGHTING DESIGN ALLIANCE in 1995, Andy’s experience has expanded to include single and multi-family residences, sports complexes, entertainment centers, convention centers and theme parks. Some examples include: Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex, Sony Screening Room, ASI Entertainment, Broadway Street Renovation, Universal Studios Florida Isla Nublar—Home of Jurassic Park, Myriad Convention Center, Universal Studios Hollywood-Terminator 2 3D, Entertainment Center at Irvine Spectrum (Phase 2) and Anaheim Stadium Renovation. Andy has been a guest lecturer at the University of Colorado, University of Kansas, University of Southern California, California State University Long Beach, Long Beach City College, and Orange Coast College.
